The Healing Power of Your Belly: Abdominal Massage Explained
Abdominal Massage: Reconnect, Recover, and Return Home to Your Body
There’s a palpable feeling within each of us—a deep, quiet knowing that is reflected in our society, our culture, and even in the way our bodies carry tension and imbalance.
Somewhere along the way, many of us have lost touch with our center—the core that just knows. It knows what’s right and wrong. It knows who we are, even when our minds are lost in the clouds.
In early life, there is a natural cord connecting us to this center, tied to our mothers and our lineage, brimming with nourishment, guidance, and support. For many, that cord was cut too quickly.
Now, symptoms arise—pain, disconnection, digestive issues, reproductive concerns—and in our attempts to heal, our hands are often left out of the equation.
The ritual of Abdominal Massage offers a way to bring movement, sensation, and energy back to the belly. It is a practice to recover, reconnect, and return—as I like to say, to finally land home in your boots, deeply and fully alive.

Lineages of Support
Arvigo Techniques Maya Abdominal Therapy®
Rooted in ancient Mayan healing, this non-invasive therapy focuses on the womb and internal organs, restoring homeostasis, blood and lymph flow, and energy balance. It was developed by Dr. Rosita Arvigo after apprenticing with the late Maya H’Men, Don Elijio Panti of Belize, as well as other luminaries such as Ms. Hortense Robinson. This work blends massage, anatomy, physiology, herbal knowledge, nutrition, and spiritual healing into a holistic practice that honors both body and lineage.
Visceral Manipulation (Barral Institute)
Developed by Jean-Pierre Barral, Visceral Manipulation is an organ-specific fascial mobilization technique. Its guiding principle, “Only the tissues know,” highlights the body’s innate intelligence—memories of injury, stress, and tension are recorded in the tissues themselves. Through gentle, precise touch, VCSW helps recreate balance, restore movement, and enhance communication between organs and the nervous system, relieving symptoms and promoting overall vitality.
Integrative Approaches
Our sessions also draw on Visionary Craniosacral Work® and Anatomy Trains Structural Integration®, further supporting fluid movement, structural alignment, and nervous system regulation. This integrative approach ensures that your abdominal massage is not just a technique, but a deeply holistic, personalized experience.
What to Expect
Sessions are personalized and hands-on, designed to meet you where you are. You’ll remain fully clothed, while the practitioner works with the abdomen, spine, and related areas to restore flow and release tension.
Healing is layered and unique: some feel profound release in the first session, others notice subtle changes over time. The typical recommendation is 3–6 weekly sessions, after which the pace may shift to monthly or bi-monthly for ongoing support.
Because every body is unique, treatment is tailored to your needs. If another practitioner or modality would better support your healing, referrals are offered.
Reclaim Your Center
Abdominal massage is more than therapy—it’s an invitation to reconnect with your body, your lineage, and your life force. It is a chance to land fully in yourself, release what no longer serves you, and step into greater vitality, alignment, and wholeness.
